I’m obsessed with the opening stanza: the more you wait, the more you break/the longer that it takes to undo/all the knots that you’ve been tying/on cherry stems and black barbed wire too.

I think it’s this brilliant positioning of light with dark, heavy with light-hearted and sets the tone for an album that explores how much of yourself you have to break to truly discover who you are.

I admit I listened to this solely because it was a tik tok meme for a while. But it’s so good, you just have to.

99% chance that Mitski has never been the only heartbreaker in her relationships and maybe a 55% chance that I haven’t as well.

Lucy Dacus’ voice here is just really good.

I’ve been thinking more and more about the devastating end coming to us all at the hands of climate change so this naturally goes with that.

Pretty sure the lyric “Where no-one ever tells you just how clinical death looks” is one of the most original and thoughtful takes on death i’ve heard in a long while.

Of the songs on Mitski’s new album, im surprised to find this one listened to this much. It was good, but not top listen…

I swore that this is a trans song because the of the line “I am the girl that I thought I outgrew” but I guess that’s again another reminder that the narrator =/= author.
