Hi there, I’m Cole Bubenik, a writer, content marketer, and a too-online gay guy living in Austin. I write a lot too: short stories, reviews, personal ramblings, emails for work, landing page copy, and plenty of posts on bluesky.
Inane Consumption is my effort to write about the things slowly consuming me. Some weeks that’s a particular snippet of a short story I’m working on and other weeks that’s a screed on a New York Times article I read recently. Some weeks it’s a personal rambling about gardens or bird watching or how hard it is to be a person in the world.
Mostly, this is a project of personal growth. But it’s also a chance to stretch my writing and try and make it more professional and habitual. If that sounds interesting to you, please subscribe. It’ll make me feel better and you’ll get to (hopefully) read some cool stuff.
